In its drive to cut carbon emissions, Taiwan has launched a comprehensive carbon reduction plan, underpinned by technological advancements and financial investments. Notably, the country has initiated the collection of carbon fee payments, which are intended to support and incentivize emissions reduction across various sectors. This initiative is a key component of Taiwan’s strategy to promote environmental responsibility and sustainability.
To facilitate the transition of businesses towards digitalization and net-zero operations, the Taiwanese government is setting up a substantial NT$100 billion fund over an eight-year period. This fund is designed to provide essential support for businesses navigating the shift to more sustainable practices. Additionally, a diversified development program is in place to assist micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, ensuring they have the resources required to thrive in a sustainable economy.
By capitalizing on its expertise in semiconductors, information technology, and precision manufacturing, Taiwan is poised to support sustainable growth and contribute significantly to global sustainability efforts.
