On Monday, Dublin Airport celebrated the inauguration of a new non-stop flight route to Shanghai, creating Ireland’s first direct air connection to China’s largest city. The service, operated by China Eastern Airlines, will operate three times weekly using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, marking this as the longest non-stop flight ever scheduled from Dublin Airport.
Officials from the airport operator, daa, emphasized that this new route significantly enhances Ireland’s connectivity with China, a major player in the global aviation market. China Eastern Airlines, headquartered in Shanghai and a member of the SkyTeam alliance, has an extensive flight network covering Europe, Asia, Oceania, North America, South America, and the Middle East.
