China is set to kick off its National Science Popularization Month, an initiative aimed at enhancing the public’s grasp of scientific innovation and boosting science literacy across the nation. This month-long event will revolve around the theme “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future” and will include an array of exhibitions, lectures, science tours, and activities designed to engage the public.

In Beijing alone, over 100 exhibitions and events are slated to take place across key venues. Additionally, more than 150 activities will be organized by national scientific societies throughout the country. The goal is to make both fundamental research and the latest developments in science more accessible to the general public.

Attendees will have the chance to explore laboratories and research facilities firsthand, offering them a glimpse into the latest advancements in scientific research. This effort underscores the program’s emphasis on making cutting-edge science more approachable and understandable to everyday people.

As part of the program, the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy will also be held in mid-September in Beijing. The conference aims to bring together representatives from various countries to discuss issues related to science literacy and foster international cooperation in the field.
